Finding Safety and Stability After Domestic Violence
S.T. came to License to Freedom seeking urgent assistance after experiencing severe domestic violence. Upon reaching out, S.T. was immediately supported by the License to Freedom team and safely transferred to the Project Hope shelter.
While at the shelter, S.T. was connected with both a Housing Navigator and an DV Advocate, who provided coordinated and comprehensive support throughout the member’s journey. The Housing Navigator referred S.T. to a housing program, and the application was quickly approved.
Together, the navigator and advocate helped S.T. in multiple areas, including stabilizing immigration status, applying for county benefits, and securing part-time employment. They also supported S.T. in finding safe and stable housing.
To ensure a smooth transition, they helped request and obtain financial assistance for a security deposit and one month’s rent.
