Economic Development Program

Entrepreneurship program

In partnership with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and San Diego Refugee Communities Coalition, License to Freedom supported over 100 refugees with micro-grants to help them launch their businesses or to provide financial assistance to their new businesses. We supported new entrepreneurs with grants and technical support for their businesses, from filing their businesses to marketing. Since then, we continue to provide small micro-grants for aspiring entrepreneurs in our community.

United We Sew

United We Sew is a new program that allows women to get paid fairly while making products they love. Their hand-made products are sold through License to Freedom’s retail store. Our program creates opportunities for women in San Diego to sew together with women from License to Freedom to create opportunities to build friendships among women from diverse backgrounds.

Career Readiness

We provide job placements, interview preparation and resume writing on an as-needed basis. We also partner with Grossmont College to provide classes in workforce development and training.
